About this Role

TEAM Education Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and skilled professional to be the Vice Principal, responsible for the day-to-day running of Key Stage 5, including at our satellite site at Chesterfield Football Club.

Stubbin Wood School and Nursery is a special school for pupils aged 2-19 which has over 225 students over multiple sites with a dedicated team of over 100 staff.  The school has been on a long journey of improvement and, with support from the Trust, has become a beacon of educational strength within the local community.

The ideal candidate we seek is an individual who will bring energy, passion and professional knowledge to our wonderful and welcoming school.

The successful candidate will have senior leadership experience and the ability to inspire children and motivate the community, building on current relationships.  We are looking for someone who is an outstanding classroom practitioner who recognises high quality pupil first teaching and learning.  We seek a candidate who will be keen to empower everyone to reach their full potential in our fully inclusive school.

You will actively support the Principal to raise standards for all by providing outstanding visible leadership.  You will work with the Senior Vice Principal to ensure the Key Stage 5 curriculum is developed, organised, implemented and assessed effectively.  If you wish to apply for this role, we will be looking for you to bring high aspirations for learning and success into the classroom and that you will continue with the development of our motivated and ambitious team.

The TEAM Education Trust can offer the successful candidate the support to continue with the growth of the school, excellent renumeration and employment benefits as well as the potential for further career development.  This role will have the opportunity to work at Trust level.

For more information on our school, please telephone the TEAM Education Trust and ask to speak with the Executive Personal Assistant to the Trust CEO who will arrange for you to talk with one of our Executive Team.  Please also view the school website: Home | Stubbin Wood School (teameducation.org). To learn more about our Trust, please see Welcome to the TEAM Education Trust | Together Everyone Achieves More

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All school posts involve working with children and therefore the successful candidates will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records at an enhanced level. Further information about the Disclosure Scheme can be found at www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check

As an organisation assessing applicants’ suitability for positions which are included in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order using criminal record checks processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), TEAM Education Trust complies fully with the code of practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly. TEAM Education Trust undertakes not to discriminate unfairly against any subject of a criminal record check on the basis of a conviction or other information revealed.

TEAM Education Trust is committed to the fair treatment of its staff and potential staff, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependents, age, physical/mental disability or offending background. We actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential and welcome applications from a wide range of candidates, including those with criminal records.

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar a person from working in school. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of the offence(s).

At Application stage, you will be asked to declare Criminal Records. At interview, or in a separate discussion, TEAM Education Trust ensures that an open and measured discussion takes place on the subject of any offences or other matter that might be relevant to the position. Failure to reveal information that is directly relevant to the position sought could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment.

Failure to declare a relevant conviction, caution or pending police action, will disqualify the applicant from appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light later.
