We are seeking a confident Head of
History who will relish the prospect of transforming lives by sharing their
love for the subject. We want leaders who are conscientious, hard-working,
enjoy being with children and love to see student success. As a leader there is an expectation to drive
strategy and ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Working with a team of staff you will hold
others to account as well as supporting staff well-being. The head of history will work as part of our
wider humanities team and as such will be expected to support the teaching and
learning of all students within this faculty where required.
Providing high standards of
teaching and learning, using your up-to-date knowledge, skills and expertise
you will work within the guidance of all Trust policies and procedures as set
out. You will maintain a thorough and up
to date knowledge of the teaching of History and take account of wider
curriculum developments which are relevant to your work. Subject to relevant
experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for strategically
leading and delivering the curriculum and will have shared responsibility for
the overall effectiveness in providing the highest quality of education for all
our students in our outstanding school.
Our CPD programme focuses on
sharing time with your line manager, reflecting on best practice with a focus
on the Rosenshine principles. The school culture is centred upon life-long
learning and ambition for all. You will be given all the freedom you need to be
creative, and you will be working with students who have chosen to be at a
successful school.
January 2024 saw our new term
structure changing to follow the Northamptonshire framework. This could be an exciting prospect if you are
currently employed, or have family who are employed or in education, under this
structure.

young people.
Our members of staff are
