About this Role

Alderman Jacobs is a vibrant and popular three form entry school with its own pre-school located in the market town of Whittlesey, just 6 miles from Peterborough.  The school was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted (March 2023) with inspectors reporting that Alderman Jacobs is a welcoming and happy place where pupils enjoy their learning. All aspects of school life reflect the school’s values of developing ‘energy for life, learning and the environment’. The school joined the Soke Education Trust in September 2023 and works collaboratively with Gunthorpe, John Clare, Northborough, Werrington and Wittering Primary Schools supported by an experienced and growing central team.

We currently have an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated and creative staff team as Class Teacher covering a period of maternity leave. This is a temporary role of up to one year.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a team player who enjoys sharing good practice
  • Is forward thinking in their planning and delivery of learning
  • Has experience of teaching children in Key Stage 2
  • Is ambitious for every child to succeed, no matter their background or need
  • A well organised and reflective practitioner

In return we can offer you:

  • A highly supportive, professional working environment.
  • A class of children who are enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn
  • High quality training and CPD (the school is currently part of a professional learning community research project with Anglia Ruskin University)
  • A very well-resourced school
  • An induction programme that will support you every step of the way.
  • An active Staff Wellbeing Group and full access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • A large, heated outdoor swimming pool which can be used before and after school by staff in the summer months!

We would be delighted to show you around. To discuss the position please contact the school office on 01733 202403. Our website has lots of information about our school www.aldermanjacobs.cambs.sch.uk

Interviews will be held week commencing 8th July 2024.
