About Ridgeway Education Trust
Ridgeway Education Trust (RET) is the multi-academy trust which oversees Didcot Girls' School, St Birinus School, Didcot Sixth Form and Sutton Courtenay CofE Primary School.
Ridgeway Education Trust was created in 2012 when Didcot Girls' School converted to academy status to facilitate future collaboration and partnership with schools in the local area. In October 2013, RET was awarded sponsor academy status from the Department for Education.
St Birinus School joined RET in September 2015. The powerful collaboration between the two secondary schools and Didcot Sixth Form drives educational excellence, wider opportunities for partnership and improved value for money.
Sutton Courtenay Church of England Primary School joined the Trust in April 2019, creating the potential for further collaboration and the opportunity to build an exceptional education provision from nursery up to and including sixth form. The Story of RET summarises our journey so far.
As Executive Headteacher and CEO, I am hugely privileged to work with exceptional Headteachers and senior teams across the Trust. Whilst we celebrate the unique identity of each Trust school we are bound together by shared values in a close knit community. We share a passion for social justice and the belief that education has the potential to transform lives. Every young person is entitled to an exceptional school experience. This shared motivation drives high standards and a commitment to excellence.
RET Trustees are highly experienced, ambitious and innovative. Pivotal to the Trust's success, they bring a range of expertise as well as challenge and support to the work of our schools. We are outward looking and seek to learn from the best and to share our own good practice. It is this restlessness which builds the culture of continuous improvement which typifies our Trust and of which I am so proud to be a part.
