About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our friendly lunchtime team, working within the Christian ethos of our school to support our children whilst they eat and play in a safe and fun environment.

The scope of the role includes:

·        Prepare the dining area so that all pupils can be accommodated during the lunch period and ensure that the area is clean and tidy to enable it to be used for the afternoon session.

·        To have high expectations of behaviour, ensuring that pupils behave in accordance with the school’s positive behaviour policy; identifying & dealing with unacceptable behaviour.

·        Ensure that pupils eat their lunch in an acceptable manner and that tables are left clean and tidy. This will involve teaching children to use a knife and fork, encouraging good manners, monitoring eating habits/behaviour.

·        Encourage healthy eating.

Encouraging safe, social interaction and play.

Maintain awareness of individual children’s needs so that any behavioural issues can be dealt with in an informed and appropriate way.

Deal with any emergencies, including first aid, in line with school’s policies & procedure

To work in collaboration with the catering team.

To encourage acceptance and inclusion of all children in the school.

To promote pupils’ self-esteem.

To contribute to a positive school environment.

To act as a good role model when interacting with children and set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.

To work within the school’s policies and procedures including safeguarding and health & safety.
