It is a very exciting time in the school’s long and interesting history. We are aiming to create a learning environment that allows all children to fulfil their potential, whatever that potential may be.
Here at Clewer Green we firmly believe that education is not only about academic excellence but also about allowing the children within our care to be able to develop skills that will last them a lifetime. Learning doesn’t just happen in Literacy, Numeracy and Science, but in all other areas of the curriculum, as well as in the way in which we conduct ourselves. Our children will be taking on jobs and even careers that have not even been thought of yet, and it is essential that they have the ability and desire to adapt and change within a future that will be full of possibilities for them.
I make absolutely no apologies for the Christian nature of our school. The strong ethos of the school allows us to develop a sense of moral justice, a sense of care and nurture as well as a sense of respect and understanding, based firmly on Christian principles. Of course we welcome all in to our school. We are a faith school, and developing an understanding of faith whatever religious background that faith is based in allows us to develop a respect and understanding for others, but to also deepen our own beliefs.
Parents here are very much partners in their child’s education. They have after all, spent the last four to five years teaching their child. We do anticipate that parents support what we do in school by working with their child at home and providing a unified front from both parents and school will help to reinforce our expectations.
We very much welcome parental involvement in the school, whether that be coming in during lessons to support the work being carried out in class, taking an active role in the Friends of Clewer Green, simply supporting events or helping in any other way you can. Every little bit helps! We are trying to develop a sense of community within the school and parents are very much part of our community.
We warmly welcome all visitors to the Clewer Green School community.
Best wishes,
Martin Tinsley
