The role of the Pastoral Officer is to provide support to a year group, reinforcing and promoting our school values of Friendship, Excellence and Respect. You will support the welfare and progress of students in their learning, behaviour and transitions.

Hours of Work: 37 Hours Per Week, Term Time including training days + 2 Weeks (41 Weeks Per Year)

The successful candidate will work within the pastoral team to address the needs of students who require support (behaviours, emotional or social barriers) with their learning. Collaborating with a wide range of colleagues you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students on their educational journey and you will support their pastoral needs to ensure behaviour, safety, wellbeing and attendance targets are met for these students.
We are looking for a candidate who:
has experience of working with young people
has empathy and respect for young people
has professional resilience and integrity and the ability to handle confidential issues and information sensitively and appropriately
is approachable
can work on their own initiative
can develop and maintain positive working relationships with a range of students in order to provide guidance and support
has a sound knowledge of school systems, up-to-date curriculum and correct academic procedures; and using this knowledge to help guide individuals through the learning process
has experience of dealing with behaviour issues in an academic environment
has experience of communicating with a range of individuals, including parents/carers and outside agencies in an appropriate manner
