Learning Support Assistant

Salary: NJC 4 (£12.67 per hour)
Compass Point Primary is a diverse and welcoming school in the heart of Bedminster, part of the Excalibur Learning Trust. We are a single form entry school with around 200 children with a Resource Base for children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, a Nursery for 3 and 4 year olds plus breakfast and after school clubs. In November 2022 we were awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted. We take pride in our inclusive ethos. As well as providing high quality education we help our children develop life skills for the future.
We are looking to recruit a bank of casual Learning Support Assistants to work across the school on an ad-hoc basis. These casual recruits will help cover when staff are absent, have training or other needs which take them out of the classroom. We are looking for friendly, positive team members with a can-do attitude who are interested in working with children in an education setting.
The successful candidates will:
- be interested in working with children
- be interested in supporting children with SEN
- be keen to learn and willing to act on feedback
- enjoy working as part of a hard-working, committed team
- demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills
- inspire, motivate and encourage children
- use initiative and be self-motivated
These positions are flexible and may suit part-time students or those looking for their first role in an education setting.
