About this Role

Looking for a change in direction? Would you like to teach individuals or small groups of pupils unable to attend their usual school due to a mental or physical health condition? Hospital and Outreach Education AP Academy (HOE) are currently seeking a proactive, confident and enthusiastic Art teacher. We are looking for someone who will develop, maintain and teach an innovative, inclusive and engaging curriculum to our secondary aged young people.

Hours: Part time 0.33 FTE

Location: Northampton (some teaching may be required at other locations in Northamptonshire)

Essentials: You must hold QTS and have experience of teaching Art in a secondary school or equivalent environment at KS3, 4 and ideally A Level.  Applicants from Early Career Teachers may be considered.

As a Trust, we value diversity and encourage applications from all members of society, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, disability or age.

The academy is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.  Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust.

HOE is part of the Skylark Partnership Trust, a growing multi academy trust which is for settings delivering education for pupils with medical needs. We have a climate of high expectations of pupils, despite the impact of their illness, enabling them to access education and fulfill their potential.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful Alternative Provision Academy for children with medical needs.

The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the core values and ethos of HOE and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced by pupils with medical and mental health difficulties in accessing education.

You are welcome to contact us to find out more about the role before completing the application.  Please ring the office on 01604 662250 or email pwhite@nhoe.org.uk to arrange a visit or discussion.

Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday, 10 September 2024.
