THE ROLE
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Catering Assistant for our special school in Huddersfield, to offer flexibility to the catering department. As a Catering Assistant you will support to provide high quality, cost effective and safe services to learners, staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job

• The post holder will ideally have a passion for catering and an interest in creating nutritional and healthy meals. 

• You will be supporting preparation and delivery of lunchtime daily menus. 

• You will work as part of a team carrying out all duties as expected in a catering department to ensure a high level of customer service. 

• You will be undertaking high quality cleaning regimes and must adhere to procedures such as, health and safety, allergen control, food safety and stock control and rotation.

• We are looking for someone who is flexible to meet the needs of our learners and the team. 

THE CANDIDATE

• Previous catering experience is desirable and experience of working in education settings would be advantageous.

• Desirable if you have Food Safety Level 2 or be willing to partake in the training required

• An interest of working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
