Music Ambassadors
Overall purpose of the job
Simon Balle Music is a vibrant community of musicians from Reception to Year 13. 30% of our school has instrumental or vocal lessons and 25% are involved in enrichment each week. We have a programme of 40+ concerts, recitals and events each year and our musical outcomes are way above local and national data. 250+ students take a music exam each year. This role sits within Team Music, providing operational and logistical support, supporting the smooth running of all our musical work.
We are looking to appoint student Music Ambassadors to support our amazing music at Simon Balle. As a team, the ambassadors will have a variety of musical skills. The key parts of the role are:
Working under the direction of the Music Manager and Director of Music being punctual and professional
Working on a rota for various shifts including 7.40 - 8.40am and after school times. There will be additional times during the year supporting concerts
Supervising practice in the morning, working with younger students
Supporting ensembles, ensuring they are set up quickly and efficiently, working in a team, supporting musicians in our primary ensembles, playing as required,
Helping ensure the smooth running of our operation by ensuring instruments and equipment are put away and the music centre is ready for the next event / day
Supporting the smooth running of concerts and events as required during the year
