MAIN
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specialist Teaching
Assistant in the Primary Provision:
1. To
assist teachers with all aspects of their work within the provision
2. To
contribute to physical, social, emotional and intellectual well being of the
pupils
3. To
work with groups or individuals within the unit or within other areas of the Alternative
Provision Academy if the need arises
4. To
support pupils during breakfast, break times and lunch times
5. To
prepare wall displays under the guidance of the class teacher
6. To
work in collaboration with teaching staff of the Alternative Provision Academy,
setting and reviewing pupils’ targets, planning progression and differentiation
of work, and supporting pupils to achieve progress and success.
7. To
input data to the Alternative Provision Academy and the Local Authority’s
databases, as required
8. To
liaise with pupils’ parents/carers
9. To
liaise with the pupils’ school (link teacher)
10. To
visit pupils in their mainstream school to provide support and follow up
11. To
respect confidentiality of all information regarding pupils and their families
12. To
attend and contribute to staff meetings as required
13. If
required and from time to time, to undertake similar duties as a Specialist Teaching
Assistant in the Secondary Provision
