About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Lead to join our team and take a pivotal role in enhancing student engagement, behaviour, and attendance. If you are passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their educational journey, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.

In this role, you will work closely with the Primary Deputy Heads and SENCo to promote the participation and engagement of students throughout the school day. You'll develop and implement strategies to support students in overcoming barriers to achievement, ensuring they can fully benefit from the educational, personal, and social opportunities available to them.

Your responsibilities will include developing individual behaviour plans for students experiencing difficulties or demonstrating challenging behaviours. You'll provide direct personal, practical, medical, and pastoral support to students facing various challenges, helping them navigate and succeed in their educational environment. By maintaining a visible presence throughout the school day, especially during key times such as the beginning of the day, breaks, and lunch, you'll foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

Collaboration is key in this role. You will work directly with teachers and teaching assistants to identify and address the needs of students requiring additional support. You'll share your expertise by modeling and implementing effective strategies, contributing to the professional development of the support staff. Your ability to communicate effectively with parents will help support positive outcomes for students, offering them the guidance and advice they need.

Maintaining accurate records of support provided and participating in meetings related to students' progress and welfare will be essential. You'll also contribute to the development of resource materials to promote positive behaviours within the school. Your knowledge of de-escalation techniques will be crucial in managing challenging behaviours, and you'll share and model good practices with school staff to support the development of positive behaviours.

Safeguarding is a fundamental part of this role. You'll work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and our safeguarding and child protection policies. Collaborating with the designated safeguarding lead (DSL), you'll promote the best interests of pupils and share any concerns as necessary.

Join our team and make a significant difference in the lives of our students. If you are ready to inspire, support, and lead, we look forward to receiving your application.
