This term-time only role is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, working in partnership with both our teaching and administration staffThe post will suit someone with a natural enthusiasm and ability to engage with young people. Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be calm, confident, resilient and empathic.   

Previous experience is not necessary, as you will be given a full induction and training programme; however, an understanding of working with children and safeguarding policies is desired. 

Beacon Academy is a split site, semi-rural, mixed 11-18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 1664 students, including over 320 students in our Sixth Form. We are situated centrally in Crowborough on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast. The vast majority of our staff travel to Beacon from a variety of locations within the southeast, including Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells. 

In September 2022, Beacon Academy, together with Uplands Academy in Wadhurst, became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formally Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym, MARK, was selected because staff who work in the Trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development, and the sharing of good practice across the two schools.

Full or part time hours will be considered for the right candidateAn 8:20am start is essential. This role is paid on Single Status Grade 5, currently £25,183 - £25,583 per annum, full time equivalent.
