Avenue Centre for Education are looking to appoint an experienced, innovative and dynamic School Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. The role is varied and the successful candidate will need to multitask and work under pressure. Being highly organised and experienced in prioritising your own and others workloads is essential.
The School Business Manager will play an important role in our school. They will:
Be part of an experienced Senior Leadership Team, shaping the school's vision and success.
Drive positive change, maximising resources to create a thriving learning environment.
Work alongside a passionate community dedicated to education.
Be responsible for managing all aspects of school business management, including facilities, health and safety, finance, human resources, catering, procurement, administration, data protection, governance and project management.
Work closely with the Headteacher, lead and manage the Central Services Team:
The right candidate should:
Understand the challenges facing school budgets and be skilled in seeking new income streams to improve outcomes for our students.
Be able to work in a busy environment and meet demands and deadlines without compromising on your commitment to accuracy and attention for detail.
Have strong organisational and communication skills.
Be organised and have knowledge of school administrative systems and working practices (SIMS/ACCESS/Arbor/Smartlog/Google Gsuite would be desirable).
Have knowledge and working practice of estates and facilities management including health and safety.
Have knowledge and working practice of financial principles, controls and budget planning.
Understand HR principles, policies and procedures.
Understanding school governance, policies and procedures.
Be able to hold good relationships with staff, students, parents and other stakeholders.
Be committed to and able to promote the aims of the School and the school values.
Be committed to the welfare, wellbeing and Safeguarding of pupils.
Have a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
The position is a permanent one, starting September 2024. The hours are 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute (unpaid) lunchbreak. This is a total of 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
