About this Role

Following the promotion of our current Assistant Head to a Deputy Head teacher position, in January 2025, we are seeking to appoint a talented and values driven Assistant Head teacher to join the Senior Leadership Team from January 2025

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience of working with young people with a range of special needs, to join a thriving and ambitious school. You will have a strong work ethic and be able to lead by example.

The successful individual will take on the role of the school SENCo and will ensure that EHC Plans are updated and reviewed in a timely fashion, that provision is implemented and that students make progress towards their objectives and outcomes.

They will ensure high quality teaching and learning occurs across the school and will monitor and oversee assessment, monitoring and target setting, including accreditation.  An understanding of how students with learning difficulties learn, is essential, along with an understanding of how students and families can be supported.

The postholder will also have oversight of transition into and out of Woodlands.

The successful candidate will work as part of a highly motivated leadership team, alongside a talented and committed staff team, with our diverse, inclusive and amazing student population.

You will need to be dynamic, decisive and diplomatic, with proven excellent communication skills at all levels.
