About St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust

About our Trust

Since 2018 we have worked closely as a family of schools to deliver the highest standards in education, care, support and guidance for our young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and (since 2022) Rutland. Our schools are happy, thriving, successful places run by experienced school leaders, and supported by highly engaged local governing bodies.

Our trust and our schools are highly ambitious for every young person in our care; our vision states that “we don’t give up on our young people, always believing in them”. This means believing in them to achieve as well as they possibly can, to leave our schools with the very best life chances, to grow spiritually, morally and socially to be the best people they can be, and to be caring, inclusive and empathetic citizens throughout their lives. We recognise that this is an immense challenge yet believe that we are blessed and privileged to have been called to respond to it.

We often speak of “Christ at the centre” of all we do. This is more than a mere form of words. It means that the person, teaching and example of Christ can be explicitly found in our polices and ways of working, our school curricula, our behaviour management principles, and the way we treat each other in our schools. It is our steadfast belief that all our young people can come to know Christ as teacher, guide and friend during their time in our schools. It is our hope that this will help them in their future lives, in the decisions they make, and in the way they interact with others.

Our vision

All of our young people tangibly benefit from a consistently outstanding Catholic education.

Our mission

With Christ at the centre of all that we do, we work collaboratively, openly and honestly to provide all young people within our Catholic MAT with a world-class education that enables them to be lifelong learners and fruitful contributors to our society.

Our goals

  • Rich Catholic life: the formation of our young people will be based on the life and teachings of Christ. Our schools will welcome and encourage people of all faiths and none. Our schools will encourage young people to be outward-facing and empathetic members of their communities.
  • Happy, safe & well: the safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff is of paramount importance in our CMAT.
  • World-class education: evidence-informed practice will ensure outstanding provision in the education of the whole person from EYFS to Year 13.
  • Collaboration and trust: staff, governors and directors will work together with parents/carers and parishes in a spirit of openness, honesty and on-going development for the good of the young people in our care. We will also celebrate the distinctive nature of each of our schools.
  • Equality for all: social justice and a strong desire for upward social mobility will underpin our work to remove all barriers to learning, progress and success. Every member of our community will be welcomed and valued; no one will be prejudged on their personal level of need, their ethnicity, faith (or none), gender, sexuality or age.
  • Life-long learning: our curricula will ensure that our young people are inspired and excited by learning, maintaining a thirst for education.
  • Staff development: evidence-based, highly effective professional development at all levels will ensure both excellent progress and outcomes for our young people, and first-rate developmental career progression for all staff.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do
