At Springwell Harrogate, we are proud to welcome you to our school! Based in the heart of Harrogate and operating as a proud member of the Wellspring Academy Trust, our aim is simple: to provide the best possible care and education for children and young people who struggle with the mainstream school experience.

We work hard to prevent our young people from being permanently excluded from mainstream education. We do this by providing short term, intervention focused placements that allow a young person to successfully re engage and return to their mainstream school. From the moment you step through our doors, you will find a therapeutic, nurturing environment designed to recreate a warm family setting.

At Springwell Harrogate, we believe that our curriculum should comprise not only of learning experiences, but of life experiences. We teach using both the National Curriculum and our specialised Nurture curriculum, pinning everything we do to a love and exploration of the outdoors and nature to challenge and support our young people in all aspects.

Our Core Mission

We believe that all our pupils can, with the right support, be empowered to succeed, anchoring everything we do in three core pillars:

• Unconditional Positive Regard: This is at the absolute centre of how we work, ensuring every young person feels safe, valued, and respected within our recreated family environment.

• A Therapeutic Curriculum: Our intention is to identify the unique needs of each young person and tailor an individual learning and pastoral intervention plan. Our students have access to daily nurture breakfasts, end of day reflection time to build deep staff student relationships, and twice weekly PSHE lessons focused on making safe, moral choices.

• Dedicated Emotional Well being: We provide vital, targeted mental health support, including one to one sessions with counsellors and in school one to one emotional well being support to give pupils the real world skills and strategies needed to manage difficult emotions like anxiety or low mood.
