About Parkside School
Welcome to Parkside School
Welcome to Parkside School! We are a vibrant mainstream school with a fantastic, small resourced provision on site. As a proud member of the Wellspring Academy Trust—recently named Multi Academy Trust of the Year—we are on an exciting, forward thinking journey together, complete with a fresh curriculum, a brand new uniform, and a supportive culture where everyone can thrive.
Whether working inside our mainstream classrooms or within our specialist provision, our staff are united by a simple philosophy: We make a difference.
A Message From Our Principal
It is a great privilege to welcome you to Parkside School. Our school is a vibrant, exciting place to be, and we have so much to celebrate and look forward to.
As part of the Wellspring family, we focus on building strong relationships at every level to shape a positive, inclusive culture. We are deeply committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of our young people, ensuring our school serves as a meaningful anchor for the local community.
To bring this vision to life, we have introduced several exciting changes, including a new uniform, a completely refreshed school day, and a brilliant coaching structure for both staff and students that helps maintain a happy, thriving community. While we always push for academic excellence, we place an equal emphasis on life skills: good manners, clear communication (oracy), hard work, respect, and kindness. Our ultimate goal is to become a true centre of excellence at the heart of our community. Whether you are a parent, a carer, a visitor, or joining our staff team, we welcome you to be part of our journey!
Our Core Mission & Pillars
We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed. We anchor everything we do in a few core pillars that make our school a genuinely positive and inclusive place to learn and work:
Our Coaching Programme: Coaching is right at the heart of Parkside. Every single student has a dedicated adult mentor who provides ongoing guidance and one on one support. It’s all about building a strong school community, fostering a deep sense of belonging, and strengthening home school relationships in a calm, encouraging environment.
Unconditional Positive Regard: At our core, we are a community. By focusing on relational practice, we build strong, honest connections that empower both our adults and our children to unlock their full potential.
Our Resourced Provision: We are proud to house a specialist, on site hub specifically for children with communication and interaction needs. Run by a dedicated team of specialist staff, this provision allows students to get the tailored support they need while remaining a fully integrated, valued part of our wider mainstream school.
Beyond the Classroom: Our E&A Curriculum
Our school day includes a comprehensive offer of enrichment and personal development as part of our unique E&A curriculum. All students have access to a wide range of activities designed to help them invest in themselves and become well rounded individuals:
Key Stage 3 (Engage & Aspire): Students dive into a wide variety of activities designed to spark their curiosity, build new skills, and expand their horizons.
Key Stage 4 (Endeavour & Achieve): The focus shifts toward sharpening their goals, preparing for future success, and building the resilience needed for the next steps in life with confidence and courage.
Join Our Team
Great schools are built by passionate people. When you join the team at Parkside, you are joining a staff culture that is highly supportive, ambitious, and deeply rewarding. We fully back our team members by offering:
Real Career Progression: We don't just offer jobs; we build long term careers. Many of our current teachers and senior trust leaders started out right here in support roles like Learning Coaches or Cover Supervisors. If you want to train as a teacher down the line, we will fully back you.
Full, Expert Training: No matter your background, you will receive a comprehensive induction programme alongside ongoing, specialist development from our SENCO, experienced coaches, and department teams.
A Supportive, Team First Culture: Enjoy working within a school environment defined by approachable leadership and a close knit team. You get to make a life changing impact during the school day, and leave work entirely at the door when you head home.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
The safety, moral development, and well being of our pupils are at the absolute heart of everything we do. Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility. Parkside School strictly follows the principles of Safer Recruitment. We maintain a secure, deeply supportive environment where every child is protected, valued, and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.
