The Science Department works hard
to ensure that all students feel safe and secure in their learning and
strive to achieve academic excellence. This focus is underpinned by
an ethos of continuous improvement, putting students and staff's needs at the
forefront of everything we do.
Our department is exceptionally
well-equipped with modern laboratory facilities, enabling engaging and
effective practical science lessons. Our ethos is simple: practical activities
are central to great science teaching, and our facilities make this possible.
The Department has developed the
Key Stage 3 curriculum to prepare students for the Key Stage 4 Science options.
We currently offer AQA GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy), AQA GCSE Physics, AQA
GCSE Biology and AQA GCSE Physics. At Key Stage 5 we currently run OCR A Level
Physics, OCR A Level Biology and OCR A Level Physics.
Outside of the classroom,
science students at Hampton Gardens are able to experience regular
enrichment activities, including an active weekly STEM club which benefits from
links with local businesses, as well as regular trips to universities and national
science competitions.
