We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Latin to join our vibrant and intellectually curious department from September 2026. This is a part-time position (0.4–0.6 FTE), teaching Latin to students in Years 7 and 8.
At Haberdashers’ Boys’ School, Classics is a thriving and highly valued subject. Latin is a core part of the curriculum in Years 7 and 8, before becoming an optional subject from Year 9. Classical Greek is introduced in Year 10, and both Latin and Greek are offered through to A Level. In the Sixth Form, students benefit from our unique Nexus programme, combining teaching with our partner school, Haberdashers’ Girls’ School.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a department that is deeply committed to academic excellence and enrichment beyond the classroom. Our students engage with Classics through a wide range of opportunities, including overseas trips to Italy and Greece, regular visits to the British Museum, and a joint weekly Classical Society with the Girls’ School, featuring student-led talks and visiting speakers. We also run inter-house competitions, outreach work with local state schools, and a popular Linguistics Club.
