About this Role

Are you passionate about bringing the past to life and inspiring the historians of the future? We’re looking for an exceptional Teacher of History to join our thriving and high-achieving department at Habs Boys.

The History department at Habs is a dynamic and intellectually ambitious team of seven teachers, many of whom contribute to the wider life of the school through leadership roles, pastoral responsibilities and teacher training. We are proud of our excellent academic results, rich programme of enrichment, and the number of students we support in applying to top universities – including Oxbridge, where four of our students currently hold offers to study History or related subjects.

You will:

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons.
  • Inspire students of all abilities with your subject knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Contribute to the department’s vibrant enrichment offer, which includes a History reading group, essay competitions, Family History Project, and overseas trips – most recently to Washington DC and Berlin.
  • Play a full role in the wider life of the school, embracing the opportunities available in a busy and rewarding environment.

  • Is an enthusiastic and skilled classroom teacher with high expectations.
  • Has the ability to motivate, challenge and support pupils to achieve their best.
