About this Role

About Us:

Drakelow Park Flying High Academy is our fourth brand-new school, opening in September 2026 to serve a growing new community development. With the school build progressing on schedule, we are excited to be shaping a vibrant, inclusive, and future-focused primary school from the ground up.

As a brand-new school opening small, we have a unique chance to craft a culture rooted in aspiration, belonging, and joy—where children are inspired to love learning and where every member of staff feels valued, empowered, and part of something truly special.

At Drakelow Park Flying High Academy, our vision is simple yet powerful: “Where every child belongs, excels and is championed.” We are committed to ensuring that every moment counts in a child’s early education. From the very first day, we will provide a nurturing, ambitious, and inclusive environment where children develop a love of learning and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Our vision is fully aligned with the Flying High Partnership’s commitment to creating unique, exceptional, and sustainable schools that inspire communities and empower children.

This vision sits at the heart of everything we aim to build.

About Flying High:

Flying High Partnership is a thriving multi-academy trust of 38 primary schools across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottingham City, and Nottinghamshire. We are driven by a shared vision to be unique, exceptional, and sustainable. Founded in 2012, we believe in the power of meaningful collaboration to help schools reach their full potential while supporting others along the way.

Our Partnership celebrates individuality, champions continuous improvement, and ensures every child thrives. With a strong focus on school-led professional development and leadership, we’re committed to growing exceptional teachers and inspirational leaders.

Together, we make every day count.

About the Role:

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS team. This role involves supporting young children in their early stages of learning and development, working closely with the class teacher and wider staff to create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment.

You will support children through play-based learning, both within the classroom and outdoor provision, helping to promote their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Whether supporting the whole class, leading small group activities, or providing 1:1 support for children with additional needs, your role will be key in helping every child feel safe, valued, and confident as they begin their learning journey.

A strong focus will be placed on building positive relationships, encouraging curiosity, and supporting each child to develop independence and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grade 3:

    • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND or additional needs, including supporting individual plans.
    • Help deliver structured group activities, adapt resources, and track pupil progress under teacher guidance.
    • Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development to promote inclusion and confidence.
    • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
    • Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
    • Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.

    We Are Looking For:

    Grade 3:

    • An experienced and confident individual with a strong understanding of working with children who have additional needs.
    • Someone who can adapt learning activities and resources to meet a variety of pupil needs.
    • A reflective practitioner who observes, records, and communicates pupil progress clearly.
    • A calm and nurturing adult who supports emotional development and helps pupils feel safe and included.
    • A reliable team player who can build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
    • Someone who maintains high professional standards and follows safeguarding and behaviour policies effectively.

    We Can Offer You:

    • A commitment to people across our partnership, underpinned by our people principles: adaptability, wellness, recognising achievement, employee voice and engagement, professional development and growth, inclusivity, and collaboration.
    • Access to extensive, high-quality CPL at every stage of your career, including opportunities to grow as a leader.
    • The opportunity to progress across the partnership, realising your career ambitions.
    • Access to an employee assistance programme that offers specialist support, including counselling, financial support, and legal advice.
    • A fantastic working environment, with a team that works together for the benefit of the children in our schools.
    • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children every day
