Drakelow Park Flying High Academy is the fourth brand new school to be opened by the Flying High Partnership, with doors set to open in September 2026. Located in the heart of the Drakelow Park housing development in South Derbyshire, the school will serve a growing community and provide an exceptional learning environment for local children.

The school is being built as a two-form entry primary, designed to grow alongside the development it serves. It will open with a small number of pupils, creating a close-knit and nurturing atmosphere from the outset. As the community expands, so will the school, offering exciting opportunities for staff to grow and develop their careers.

Construction is progressing well, and we expect to receive the keys in April 2026. This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter, allowing the appointed Headteacher and founding team to begin shaping the school’s culture, curriculum, and community presence ahead of its opening.
