As a Rights Respecting School, we believe that all children have the right to an education which enables them to reach their full potential: academically, socially and emotionally. We work hard to ensure our pupils thrive in our school so that they enjoy learning, can lead safe and healthy lives, and are able to make a positive contribution to society.
Our broad and balanced curriculum provides all our pupils with a wide range of learning experiences both within and beyond the classroom. As well as securing the basic skills of maths and literacy, we also believe in finding and nurturing children’s talents and interests, and provide a variety of opportunities for pupils to further develop their creative and physical skills.
We recognise the importance of children developing social as well as educational skills, and encourage our pupils to take responsibility and make decisions. This helps promote responsible behaviour, encourages self-discipline and gives pupils respect for themselves, for other people and their learning environment.
We strive to provide a caring ethos where everyone within our school community feels safe, confident, valued and respected. We place great emphasis on tolerance and understanding and respect for others’ beliefs and cultures. Our high expectations of our pupils helps to promote a caring environment where everyone can live and work together in a supportive way, and where newcomers are welcomed and immediately accepted into the school family.
We are working hard to further improve our school, and the needs of our children lie at the heart of every change we consider and every decision we make. We want every child to be a successful, responsible and confident learner, and especially value the contributions and support of our parents and carers and members of the wider school community as we strive to become the best we can be.
