Executive Headteacher's Welcome

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Birdwell Primary School. As Executive Headteacher, I am very proud to serve our students, parents, staff and community partners.

Our inclusive values underpin all that we do. Staff at our school have a firm belief in the power of education to shape children’s lives for the better. Our school is centred on a culture of excellence where we respect each other, are self-motivated, determined, responsible, have a thirst for learning and a strong sense of pride in belonging to Birdwell.

We are committed to providing educational opportunities of the highest quality for all our students and we believe in educating the whole child. We aim to deliver a broad education that is ambitious and varied, providing a caring environment that creates well-rounded individuals who excel and benefit from our approaches to teaching and learning.

Steve Honeyman - Executive Headteacher

Head of School's Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all and share a little about the school community that I am very proud to be a part of. I have lived and worked in Birdwell for a number of years and my own children attended and thrived at our school. Birdwell is a wonderful community to live in and to serve. Our families are quick to support our school and its pupils. Open events and community days are extremely well-attended, and parents pull out all the stops to ensure that events such as our annual bake-off are fun for the children and raise money to support the school.
Our school takes pride in having lofty academic ambitions but also in the holistic development of our pupils. Our Bright Beginnings program ensures that all pupils receive a varied and rich set of experiences and education in our values during their time here, in order to fully prepare them for life after they leave our school and to ensure that they are able to give back to their community.

However, the most wonderful thing about our school is certainly the pupils. The children of Birdwell are caring and considerate, enthusiastic and inquisitive, conscientious and very proud of our school. They are what make Birdwell Primary School such a special place to be.
