About this Role

We are seeking an exceptional, ambitious and collaborative leader to join Cornwall Education Learning Trust as Director of Science. This is a rare opportunity to shape and strengthen science education across our family of schools, leading improvement in curriculum, assessment and pedagogy while working in close partnership with Heads of Science, senior leaders and primary colleagues. The successful candidate will champion a high-quality, inclusive science entitlement for all learners, support subject leadership across multiple schools and help drive excellence in outcomes, experiences and progression in science. This role sits at the heart of CELT’s wider ambition to create an ambitious and inclusive all-through educational entitlement and to act as an outward-facing organisation that shares expertise to improve outcomes across the south-west.

The post will be split between 0.5 FTE school-based leadership and 0.5 FTE CELT-wide strategic leadership. We are looking for a credible and highly effective science leader with a strong track record of securing exceptional outcomes in combined and triple science, deep expertise in curriculum planning and implementation, and experience of supporting subject leaders across more than one school. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader, to further grow and develop our shared curriculum. For a leader who combines high expectations with clarity, partnership and a strong commitment to ensuring every learner experience excellent science education, this is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our community of schools.
