About this Role

Trust Finance and Procurement Officer

Full time, 36 hours and 40 mins per week, Monday – Friday. Full year (may consider Term-time and/or Part-time hours). To commence as soon as possible.

Salary: Point 12 – 14 of the SFCA Support Staff Pay Spine pay spine currently £26,927 - £28,549

The Trust Finance and Procurement Officer is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Trust as we expand our Central Services team.  The role will report directly to the Trust Head of Finance and will work alongside the current team, taking a lead on our internal processes that feed into the monthly management reporting.  The Finance team provides a central function for the Trust; including processing invoices, making payments and providing management and statutory reporting to each of the academies.

The team works closely with the Office Managers at each academy and provides support on the financial systems and processes to follow.  The department ensures that our Financial Policies are adhered to across the Trust and offers support and guidance where necessary, ensuring compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook.

The role will be based at Oldham Sixth Form College but could involve some travel to our other sites The Hathershaw College, Werneth Primary School, Broadfield Primary School and Alexandra Park Junior School.

The Pinnacle Learning Trust

The Pinnacle Learning Trust was established in 2017 as a result of the long-standing, strong and effective relationship between The Hathershaw College and Oldham Sixth Form College. Werneth Primary School joined our Trust in February 2019 and Broadfield Primary School will be joining in April 2023.   Our work is built upon our shared belief that young people in Oldham and the local area should have access to excellent educational provision.  We celebrate students’ uniqueness and support our young people to flourish and become responsible, successful citizens who contribute positively to their communities.  Our collective aim, articulated through our mission statement, is to improve the lives and life chances of young people through the development of outstanding practice based upon partnership.

The Trust’s central services teams include: HR and Payroll, IT Services and MIS, Finance and Estates.  Their aim is to enhance the experience of students and staff across the Trust by providing effective and efficient central services which support them to achieve their goals.

Our Trust invests in each member of staff, offering them professional development opportunities, including an extensive in-house professional development offer for both teachers and support staff, in areas such as: Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Mental Health First Aid and role specific training.   In addition, our staff have the opportunity to contribute to the professional development of others through designation as Evidence Leads in Education for the Research School; delivery of school-to-school support; support for trainee teachers and involvement with our work as a strategic partner with the East Manchester Teaching School Hub and our Science Learning Partnership Hub.
