About this Role

The Sir John Brunner Foundation is looking to appoint a HR Business Partner to join the central team. This is a new role, established following a reorganisation to a centralised HR shared service and business partnering model.

Pivotal in aligning HR strategies with the objectives of the Foundation, the HR Business Partner will work within a centralised HR team, providing a critical link between the HR function and the nominated academies.

In joining a welcoming, experienced and professional HR team, the successful candidate should expect to manage all aspects of people management to facilitate the delivery of the Foundation’s strategic priorities. You will be an experienced HR practitioner who is able to work proactively, communicate effectively and provide credible advice and guidance to managers.   You will be enthusiastic, always consider what is best for our people and organisation and strive for continuous improvement, thereby contributing directly to the success of the Academies and children and families we serve.

Candidates will have strong generalist experience with excellent knowledge of employment legislation, however prior experience or particular interest in employee relations, organisational development and talent management and/or reward and benefits would be  advantageous.

This is an exciting time to be joining our Multi Academy Trust, of three High Schools and a Sixth Form College, which collectively educates over 4300 children, and employs over 450 professionals, as we begin to centralise and raise the profile of our professional services.

Each of our good and outstanding academies operates at the heart of their local communities. The Foundation’s offices are based at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College campus set in beautiful grounds. The other Academies, The County High School, Leftwich; Middlewich High School and The Macclesfield Academy are all based within Cheshire. Regular travel to the nominated academies will be required.

This is a highly sought-after term time only contract, meaning the post holder will not be required to work during school holidays providing an excellent work-life balance arrangement.

If you have the enthusiasm, experience and skills to succeed please view the job description and person specification.  To apply, please complete the application form, detailing how you meet the requirements of the post. Applications should be submitted no later than 9.00 am on 26th July 2024. Interviews are likely to be held w/c 5th August 2024.  You are encouraged to submit an early application, as the Foundation may decide to close the advert early. Prospective candidates are invited to contact Kieran_j.sjbf@sjd.ac.uk for further information about the role.
