About this Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will oversee all aspects of lettings, from customer enquiries and bookings through to service delivery, compliance, and income generation. You will play a key role in ensuring our facilities are used effectively for community benefit, while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and customer service.

Working closely with Headteachers, site teams, and the Trust Central Team, you will also lead on developing a strategic approach to lettings, identifying opportunities to grow income and enhance community engagement. You will manage and support a team of lettings assistants, including line management and the scheduling of staffing to ensure appropriate cover in line with the lettings programme. You will also ensure consistent processes across the Trust and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key details

  • Salary: £31,537 – £34,434 pro rata
    (Approx. £17,000 – £18,098 per annum, pending pay award backdated to 1 April 2026)
  • Hours: 20 hours per week, all year round
    (Proposed working pattern: four evenings per week (4:00pm–8:00pm) and one daytime shift; flexibility available)
  • Location: Across Didcot Girls’ School and St Birinus School
  • Holiday: 28 days per year (pro rata)
  • Contract: Permanent

About the role

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the Trust’s lettings activity across two secondary schools
  • Act as the main point of contact for external hirers, ensuring a professional and responsive service
  • Develop and implement a lettings strategy to maximise income and utilisation
  • Ensure all lettings operate safely and in line with safeguarding and statutory requirements
  • Work closely with site and school teams to ensure facilities are prepared and secure
  • Line manage lettings assistants, including recruitment, training, and performance support, and schedule staffing to meet the requirements of the lettings timetable
  • Monitor income, performance, and customer satisfaction, reporting regularly
  • Promote facilities and identify opportunities to grow community use

About you

  • Experience in facilities, lettings or operational management
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of managing staff and customer-facing services
  • Good financial awareness and attention to detail
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach
