About this Role

Ridgeway Education Trust (RET) is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior IT Technician to join our IT Services Team. This is a senior technical role with responsibility for providing advanced support, leading daytoday technical activity at one or more schools, and supporting the effective delivery of IT services across the Trust.

The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, mentor IT Technicians and apprentices, and contribute to the planning and delivery of IT projects that support teaching, learning, and Trust operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work confidently across multiple school sites.

We are looking for an IT professional who:

  • Has strong technical knowledge across a wide range of systems and infrastructure

  • Is confident working independently and making sound technical decisions

  • Enjoys supporting and mentoring colleagues

  • Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Is proactive in identifying improvements and maintaining reliable, secure IT systems

Experience of working in an educational or multi-site environment is highly desirable.
A UK Driving License and access to a vehicle is essential.

The position is permanent, full time, 37 hours per week, all year round (excluding bank holidays and personal holiday allocation).

Ridgeway Education Trust is committed to safeguarding, equality and promoting the welfare of children and expects staff working in all its schools to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, references and pre-employment safeguarding checks.  The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining a post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.
