About the Role

As Clerk to LGB for Wickham Common Primary School you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of meetings, maintaining accurate records, and advising on legal and procedural matters. This is a term-time-only role that offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction of the school.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To liaise with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher to set agendas for six meetings per year.
  • To circulate documentation prior to each meeting.
  • To attend six LGB meetings per academic year – approx. 2 hours in duration.
  • To produce accurate, concise and timely minutes.
  • To support the board with ad hoc meetings.
  • To provide advice on governance, procedural and constitutional matters.

The successful candidate will:

  • Display a high standard of verbal and written communication.
  • Be capable of minuting discussions effectively, accurately and appropriately and be mindful of the sensitive nature of some discussions. 
  • Be organised, flexible and able to work well under pressure.
  • Be competent in the use of ICT.
