Governance and Assurance Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) as our Governance and Assurance Manager, playing a key role in the leadership and development of governance and assurance services across a large and growing Multi-Academy Trust.

Working closely with the Head of Governance and Assurance, you will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of governance, compliance and assurance activity, ensuring that governance services are delivered professionally, effectively and in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

ATT Central, which is based at our head office in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, provides leadership, strategic direction and support to ATT academies. The Central team includes experts from a range of professional backgrounds who work together to provide educational and operational excellence and to foster a strong ATT community.

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the day-to-day management, quality assurance and continuous improvement of governance support and assurance activity across the Trust.
  • Line manage and support the Governance Support Officers, ensuring work is effectively planned, prioritised and delivered to a high standard.
  • Oversee local governance support, hearings and statutory panels, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and Trust requirements and the consistent application of agreed governance standards.
  • Lead the development and implementation of governance procedures, quality assurance processes and service standards.
  • Coordinate governance recruitment, induction, training and development activities for Governors.
  • Support the delivery of the Trust's complaints framework, policy framework, risk management arrangements and assurance activity.
  • Support the Trust's Data Protection Officer through the coordination and oversight of information governance processes, including Subject Access Requests, Freedom of Information requests and data breach management.
  • Work closely with school leaders, Governors, Trustees and colleagues across ATT to promote effective governance, compliance and continuous improvement.

This role would suit an experienced governance professional with strong organisational and leadership skills, experience of working within a regulated environment, and a passion for delivering high-quality services and building effective relationships.
