Please note: To be considered for the Teacher Training Programme, you will need to apply using the link at the end of this advert rather than through My New Term.

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people?

Do you want a career that is meaningful, rewarding, and full of opportunities to grow?

At Academy Transformation Trust (ATT), we believe in the power of education to transform life chances. With 22 academies across primary, secondary, post‑16 and FE settings, we are a thriving cross‑phase Trust committed to hard work, integrity and teamwork. Our mission is simple: to prepare every student for a successful, fulfilling future — and that starts with exceptional teachers.

Why Train to Teach with ATT Institute?

The ATT Institute has a proven track record in Initial Teacher Training (ITT), with 100% of trainees achieving both QTS and PGCE in recent years. We are proud winners of the 2025 MAT Excellence Award for Staff Development, and shortlisted across multiple categories for 2026.

As an experienced Delivery Partner for Initial Teacher Training, the Early Career Teacher Programme, and National Professional Qualifications with Ambition Institute, we are uniquely placed to support you at every stage of your teaching career.

When you train with us, you’re not just a trainee — you’re a valued member of the ATT community, supported by a dedicated, expert Institute team who will guide you throughout your journey.

We're offering teacher training for Primary and Secondary phases. Secondary subjects we offer are Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry Physics, Computing English, Geography, History, Mathematics, French, Spanish and PE.

📍 Where You’ll Train

We’ll place you in a local ATT academy, where you will be based Monday to Friday throughout your programme. At your interview, we’ll explore placement options with you — always taking your travel and circumstances into account. We have academies located across the Midlands and the East of England.

You will complete:

  • One main school placement for the year, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A contrasting placement for 2–3 weeks, giving you wider experience and confidence in different environments.

🎓 What You’ll Learn

Your training programme combines hands‑on classroom experience with high‑quality, research‑informed study. Each week, you’ll explore a key area of teaching through:

  • Independent study
  • Online weekly clinics
  • Group sessions with fellow trainees
  • Mentor meetings and deliberate practice
  • Real classroom application
  • Your training will cover five essential areas:

1. Behaviour

Create calm, purposeful classrooms where every child can thrive.

2. Instruction

Learn how to teach clearly, effectively, and in ways that help all learners succeed.

3. Curriculum

Discover how to design lessons that build knowledge over time.

4. Assessment

Understand how to check learning and support pupils who need more help.

5. Professionalism

Develop the habits and knowledge you need for a successful long‑term career.

Alongside this, you’ll study two PGCE modules and complete written assignments as part of your qualification.

👥 Your Support Network

Every trainee receives weekly support from a dedicated, experienced mentor in their placement school. Your mentor will help you:

  • Practise new techniques
  • Build confidence before going live in the classroom
  • Reflect on your progress
  • Support your wellbeing with protected meeting time
  • By the end of your training, you’ll be ready — and excited — to teach independently.
