About this Role

People Business Partner

Join The People’s Learning Trust and Make a Lasting Impact on Education

Are you an experienced HR professional passionate about shaping exceptional educational environments? Do you thrive on partnering with leaders to foster inclusive, supportive, and high-performing teams? The People’s Learning Trust is seeking a dedicated People Business Partner to join our vibrant Central Team and play a pivotal role in driving our vision of excellence and inclusivity across multiple academies.

About The People’s Learning Trust

We are a dynamic Multi-Academy Trust comprising five diverse schools, including three primary academies and two Pupil Referral Units, one of which offers mainstream college provision. Rooted in the Everton family ethos, our Trust is committed to creating a compassionate, collaborative, and innovative environment where every pupil and staff member feels valued and empowered.

Our mission is clear: to cultivate inclusivity, trust, positive relationships, and a love of learning that enables individuals to excel and contribute meaningfully to our global community. Our core values—Inclusivity, Collaboration, Respect, Trust, and Community—guide everything we do. We believe every pupil can achieve their greatest ambitions, and we support this through strong leadership, autonomy, and tailored development opportunities.

About the Role

As a People Business Partner, you will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders and governing bodies, delivering strategic and operational people management across our academies. Your expertise will help shape workforce planning, employee relations, wellbeing initiatives, and recruitment processes that underpin school improvement and organisational effectiveness.

Key highlights of the role include:

  • Leading complex employee relations cases and providing expert guidance grounded in employment law and best practice.
  • Using data and workforce insights to inform recruitment, retention, and development strategies.
  • Coaching senior leaders to enhance leadership capability and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion standards.
  • Playing an active role in evolving our People function to support our vision of world-class academies.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a hybrid working model between our Trust HQ at Goodison Park, various academy sites, and home.
