About this Role

Are you looking for a career where no two days are the same, where you can earn while you learn, and where your work makes a real difference every day?

As an Operational Facilities Supervisor Apprentice, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe, compliant and efficient operation of schools across Empower Trust. Working as part of our Estates & Facilities Team, you will gain hands-on experience in facilities management while studying towards nationally recognised qualifications.

This is far more than a traditional apprenticeship. You will become a trusted point of contact for schools and contractors, helping to coordinate maintenance activities, manage compliance records, support asset management, and ensure our sites remain safe and welcoming environments for pupils, staff and visitors. You'll work closely with Headteachers, Business Support Managers, site teams and contractors, gaining valuable experience across a diverse portfolio of school buildings.

The role offers exceptional variety. One day you may be helping to resolve a maintenance issue, the next you could be coordinating statutory inspections, updating compliance systems, analysing maintenance data or supporting Trust-wide facilities projects. You'll develop strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills while learning how a large and successful Multi Academy Trust manages its estates and facilities operations.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will receive dedicated mentoring and support from experienced facilities professionals while working towards a highly regarded programme that combines practical workplace experience with professional qualifications. Successful completion of the apprenticeship provides an excellent pathway into a permanent career within facilities and estates management.

If you are organised, proactive, enjoy working with people and want to build a rewarding career that helps schools thrive, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
