Early Years Apprentice Teaching Assistant       

Training Provider:     Teach East 

Location:                   Four Cs Nurseries and Primary Academies  (specifically Fulbridge Academy, Hampton Vale Primary Academy and Manor Drive Primary Academy)
Salary:                        National Apprenticeship Wage 
Hours:                        32.5 hours per week, Term Time plus 10 days 
Contract:                   Fixed-Term Apprenticeship (September 2026 – July 2027) 
  

Teach East is delighted to be launching an exciting Early Years apprenticeship pilot across Four Cs Nurseries and Reception classes within our Primary Academies. 

With up to 10 apprenticeship placements available, this is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in Early Years education while gaining valuable practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification.

We have designed an innovative, knowledge-rich Early Years curriculum informed by educational research and shaped to meet the needs of our local communities. 

Placement Schools 

Successful apprentices will be placed within Nursery or Reception classes at one of the following schools: 

  • Fulbridge Academy  
  • Hampton Vale Primary Academy  
  • Manor Drive Primary Academy  

Placements will provide valuable experience across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting children in both Nursery and Reception settings. 

The Role 

As an Early Years Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and practitioners to support children's learning, development and wellbeing. 

You will help create a safe, engaging and rewarding environment where children can develop, learn and thrive while working towards your Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. 

Responsibilities 

Working alongside the class teacher and Early Years team, you will: 

  • Support indoor and outdoor learning activities linked to the EYFS curriculum.  
  • Assist in delivering engaging learning experiences that support children's development.  
  • Undertake observations and assessments of children's learning and development.  
  • Provide regular feedback on children's achievements, progress and wellbeing.  
  • Support individual children and small groups who would benefit from additional support.  
  • Encourage inclusion, participation and positive behaviour.  
  • Promote children's welfare and wellbeing at all times.  
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents and carers.  
  • Attend meetings, training and apprenticeship reviews as required.  
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection procedures.  

Training and Qualifications 

You will work towards achieving: 

  • Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship  
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (where required)  

You will receive ongoing support throughout the programme from both your placement school and Teach East.

Future Prospects 

Over the past eight years, Four Cs MAT has successfully supported many apprentices. A significant number have gone on to achieve their qualifications and secure permanent positions within our schools and nurseries. 

This apprenticeship provides an excellent foundation for a career within Early Years Education and Teaching Support.
