About this Role

About us:

Lampard Community School is a special school in Barnstaple, North Devon. We educate children aged 5-16 with complex learning difficulties, all of whom have speech, language, communication and interaction needs (SLCN) and are working significantly below age related expectations. We are part of The Special Partnership Trust. All of our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Our school aim is for our students to lead independent, fulfilling and happy lives and to gain as many of the skills needed to do that during their time with us.


The Role:

We are seeking a highly effective teacher, class tutor and subject leader who supports and challenges all students to achieve their potential. To have a sound understanding of both the needs of the students at Lampard and the appropriate support strategies that will enable them to make progress in the broadest sense.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • To be a highly effective teacher, class tutor and subject leader who supports and challenges all students to achieve their potential.
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development.
  • Leading and guiding supporting staff.


What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

·       Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

·       Strong communication and ICT skills

·       Sensitivity to the needs of students with SEND

·       Ability to work flexibly across settings and phases

Desirable:

·       Training in Special Education

·       Experience of teaching learners with SEND

·       Experience with EHCPs and inclusive teaching strategies
