You will work within a vibrant and diverse school community where compassion, empathy and a strong sense of belonging are central to everything we do. You will deliver consistently high-quality teaching, maintain high expectations for all pupils and adapt your practice to meet the individual needs of every child, including those with special educational needs. Working closely with supportive colleagues, parents and the wider community, you will help our children develop a lifelong love of learning and the confidence to take responsibility for their own growth.

Duties (further details in the attached application pack):

  • Deliver high-quality teaching that meets the Teachers’ Standards and secures good or better progress for all pupils through a well-planned, engaging and appropriately differentiated curriculum.
  • Plan, assess, record and report on pupils’ learning effectively, using data and prior attainment to set clear targets and inform next steps in line with Nova’s high expectations.
  • Maintain high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and inclusion, fostering a Rights Respecting ethos and working closely with the Lead Teacher and parents to support pupils with SEND.
  • Create and sustain a safe, well-organised and stimulating environment, ensuring high-quality classroom and shared-area displays that celebrate our children's learning and creativity.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s underlying aims and ethos, taking responsibility for a curriculum area and contributing to extra-curricular clubs and school life.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers through regular consultation and effective home/school liaison to ensure a constructive partnership for every child.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing professional development, actively engaging in staff meetings, INSET training and professional dialogue to continually refine your teaching practice.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism and safeguarding, following all school policies and safer working practices to ensure the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.

We offer:

  • Enhanced CPD, including access to professional networks across the Trust
  • Paid induction and training suited to the role
  • Confidential access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free parking
  • Use of the Cycle Scheme
  • Paid completion of a DBS check
  • Flu vaccination vouchers
  • Free eye tests (where the employee is desk-based)
  • Where eligible, automatic enrolment to the relevant pension scheme
  • Honouring of continuous service earned in the Local Authority
