I welcome you warmly to Nova Primary School where each individual child shines brightly, without limits. Our website has many pictures and lots of information for you, but for me, it is only when you visit Nova that you gain a true sense of what a happy, harmonious and innovative school community it is.

Each morning, Nova pupils run into school with boundless enthusiasm and a commitment to the highest standards of learning behaviour. They are kind and helpful citizens with a strong sense of morality and social awareness, with almost all of our oldest pupils undertaking prefect roles around the school. The progress they make in their learning is impressive and I am proud of the consistently high quality of presentation and content in their books and on display.

The Nova ‘LEARN’ curriculum has been developed to ignite pupil’s curiosity and prepare them academically and personally for life- seeing them in their lessons is a joy and their high levels of motivation and interest are an inspiration to us all. Our talented and knowledgeable team of teaching and support staff put Nova’s pupils at the heart of everything they do, and as well ensuring learning is experiential, engaging and effective, they do everything in their power to keep them safe and happy.

At Nova, safeguarding and inclusion are never separate entities, and are instead woven throughout the fabric of our school. The curriculum is underpinned by a rich culture of appreciation, respect and moral purpose, developed through values-based learning, collective worship, pupil voice and an emphasis on excellent PSHE education. We are passionate about ensuring that every aspect of our offer to children, represents our diverse society and as a headteacher, I encourage all stakeholders to challenge discrimination, prejudice and bullying at every opportunity: Nova pupils are not afraid to stand up for what is right.

Our school is also spacious, well-resourced with incredible outside facilities. We have a beautiful library and have invested heavily in high quality reading material for all ages, which reflects our commitment to developing our pupils outstanding oracy and literacy skills, as well as their general knowledge and love of books. My team are as excited as the children by the possibilities books present and this creates a real buzz about reading, around the school.
