The Teaching Assistant Level 3 works under the guidance of teachers and senior staff to support learning across the school. The role involves delivering planned activities to individuals and groups, supporting pupils with additional needs, and occasionally supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absence.
Key Responsibilities
Support for Pupils
- Use specialist skills to assist learning and help implement IEPs.
- Build positive relationships, promote inclusion, and encourage independence.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and help manage behaviour.
Support for Teachers
- Help create a positive learning environment and assist with planning and adapting lessons.
- Monitor and record pupil progress.
- Provide administrative support and liaise with parents where appropriate.
Support for the Curriculum
- Deliver agreed learning activities and adjust to pupil needs.
- Support literacy, numeracy, ICT and other learning strategies.
- Prepare and maintain resources and equipment.
Support for the School
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
- Attend meetings, undertake training, and contribute to school life, including supervising activities, trips, and out-of-school learning.
