Are you a practical, hands-on individual with a passion for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment? Stephen Freeman Primary School is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our School. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our school site, enhancing the environment for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance - including minor repairs, decorating and groundskeeping.
  • Security duties -including opening/closing the school, monitoring fire safety equipment and responding to emergencies.
  • Ensuring the site is safe, clean and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinating deliveries and supervising cleaning staff.
  • Supporting the overall ethos and aims of the school community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in facilities management, caretaking or similar roles.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE-level English and Maths or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices -including manual handling and COSHH.
