Howard Junior School has an exciting opportunity
for a Teaching Assistant to join their established team. The
successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and ambitious organisation, led
by experienced and supportive professionals.
The school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching
Assistant to join our successful team. This Teaching Assistant role provides
support for pupils in the absence of their regular teacher. In the classroom
setting, the Teaching Assistant will also manage pupils’ behaviour, help them
with their work, deal with immediate problems or emergencies, collect completed
work and report back as required.
We
are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with our pupils
and drive interaction and positive learning outcomes. There will be a need to
promote independent learning skills and behaviours for learning.
Howard
Junior School is a Key Stage 2 academy that joined Eastern Multi Academy Trust
in December 2023 and has British Values at the heart of its ethos and

NVQ 3 or equivalent in teaching
assistance or equivalent qualification or experience working at that level.

Full working knowledge of relevant
policies/ codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
·
Working knowledge of national
curriculum and other relevant learning programmes
·
Understanding of principles of child
development and learning processes and, in particular, barriers to learning
·
Ability to plan effective actions for
pupils at risk of underachieving
·
Full understanding of the range of
support services/providers
·
Ability to self-evaluate learning
needs and actively seek learning opportunities
·
Ability to relate well to children
and adults
·
Work constructively as part of a team
·
Empathy and ability to analyse and
determine appropriate actions
·
Understanding of, and ability to
comply with the requirements of safeguarding/Child Protection
·
Ability to travel
·
Ability to work flexibly outside
normal hours if necessary
