Do you believe that small acts of care behind the scenes make a big difference to children’s lives?

That the work you do each day can have a lasting impact on children and families?

That being part of a school community is about more than tasks - it’s about people?

If so, we would love to meet you.

St Louis Catholic Primary School is a caring, inclusive community where children are proud to belong, and adults work together with kindness, purpose and joy. We are seeking a dedicated and approachable Administration Assistant to join our school office team as soon as possible - someone who will become a familiar, friendly presence at the heart of our school.

The heart of the school

Our school office is more than a workplace - it’s where worries are soothed, questions are answered, celebrations are shared and relationships are built. As an Administration Assistant, you will often be the first smile pupils see in the morning, and the reassuring voice parents hear when they need support.

Working closely with the School Business Manager, Executive Headteacher, Head of School and the wider staff team, you’ll help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school while making a genuine difference to the lives of children and families.

What the role involves - Your days will be varied, busy and rewarding, including:

  • Welcoming visitors, answering calls and supporting parents and pupils with warmth and professionalism
  • Supporting pupil attendance, records and data using school systems
  • Helping with communications, forms and everyday enquiries
  • Organising administration for clubs, trips, music tuition and special events
  • Liaising with catering teams and managing lunch bookings and payments
  • Ordering and monitoring supplies such as stationery, first aid and refreshments
  • Providing general administrative support including filing, photocopying, typing and updating communication platforms
  • Supporting record keeping, cash handling and confidentiality
  • Assisting with new staff set-up, ID badges and policy documentation
  • Offering minor first aid (if trained) and minuting meetings when required

Who we’re looking for - You don’t need to know everything already - but you do need heart.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is organised, dependable and takes pride in doing things well
  • Communicates with kindness, clarity and professionalism
  • Remains calm and positive in a lively, sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and trust
  • Enjoys being part of a close-knit, supportive team
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and willing to learn school systems
  • Brings warmth, patience and a genuine care for children and families

What we offer you

  • Wonderful, enthusiastic pupils who love learning and value their school
  • A nurturing, faith-led environment rooted in respect, compassion and community
  • A forward-thinking Trust committed to supporting and developing its staff
  • A welcoming, collaborative team who will value your contribution every day
  • A role where your work truly matters - and where you will be known, supported and appreciated

We warmly welcome and encourage visits from prospective applicants. There is no better way to understand the spirit of St Louis than to walk through our doors and meet our community. Please contact the School Office Team on 01373 463728 or send an email to office@sl.thedcet.com to arrange a visit.
