About this Role

Pathway Lead – Sensory
As Cromwell High School continues to grow and our pupil numbers increase, we are introducing a new Pathway Lead role within the Sensory Department. This one-year pilot has been created to strengthen middle leadership capacity, support high-quality provision and help us evaluate a new leadership model as the school continues to expand.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and ambitious teacher to take on the new role of Pathway Lead – Sensory on a one-year fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership experience while continuing to have a significant impact on teaching, learning and outcomes for pupils within the Sensory Pathway.
About the Role
Working alongside the Head of Sensory, the Pathway Lead will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff coaching, quality assurance and the day-to-day organisation of the pathway.
This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career while remaining an active classroom teacher. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning, support staff development and contribute to continuous improvement across the pathway.
Time Allocation
The successful candidate will receive:
  • Leadership time equivalent to one day per week (0.2 FTE) to undertake the Pathway Lead responsibilities.
  • Teaching commitments for the remainder of their contracted hours.
  • Statutory PPA/non-contact time based on their teaching commitment, in addition to the allocated leadership time.
Applications are welcomed from both full-time and part-time teachers.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with complex learning needs.
  • Enjoys supporting, coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is reflective, collaborative and committed to continuous professional development.
Previous leadership experience is welcomed but not essential. We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm, credibility and commitment to develop their leadership skills and make a positive impact across the pathway.
