About this Role

We are seeking a warm, dedicated and highly organised individual to join our school team in a rewarding role at the heart of student wellbeing, inclusion and school life. This is a varied and meaningful position where you will make a real difference to the safety, health and experiences of our pupils.

Working closely with the Headteacher, staff, nursing team, families and external professionals, you will support pupils with a range of medical, behavioural and emotional needs. You will manage and administer medication in line with NCC and school policies and provide care for pupils with chronic and complex medical conditions such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, allergies and immunocompromised conditions. You will support the development and maintenance of individual healthcare and emergency care plans and act as a trained first aider for pupils and staff.

The role includes supporting pupils with personal care, hygiene, feeding and drinking, and helping them access therapies and specialist equipment such as hoists, standing frames and mobility aids. You will maintain a safe and hygienic medical and hygiene environment and, where appropriate, accompany pupils to appointments or visits.

You will play a key role in safeguarding and pastoral care, acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and working closely with vulnerable pupils, including children looked after and those eligible for Pupil Premium. This includes leading and monitoring interventions, attending meetings, supporting behaviour management, helping pupils to self-regulate and working alongside staff both in and out of the classroom to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

You will also lead and develop student voice through the Student Council, coordinate lunchtime and playtime activities, and deliver one-to-one and small group wellbeing interventions such as sensory approaches, Drawing and Talking, Protective Behaviours and Lego Therapy.

Strong organisation and confidentiality are essential, as you will maintain accurate health and safeguarding records in line with data protection legislation and school policy. You will work closely with the nursing team to share care plans and medical information, ensure adequate supplies of medication and first aid equipment, support trips and residentials, contribute to policies and promote health education across the school.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, calm and proactive, with a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing. In return, we offer a supportive school community, ongoing training and professional development, and a role where no two days are the same and your work truly matters.

Closing date 28th January @ midday
