About this Role

Serenity School Crawley is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive and collaborative team.

Serenity School Crawley is a specialist educational setting that provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment for pupils with a wide range of SEND. We are committed to supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning through positive relationships, high expectations and inclusive practice, while also fostering a workplace where staff feel valued, supported and empowered.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference to pupils’ behaviour, wellbeing and engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide targeted support, mentoring and intervention for pupils who require additional guidance.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring to support pupils’ behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
  • Supporting pupils who may be struggling to access learning or follow a full timetable
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of behaviour support and intervention plans
  • Promoting positive behaviour, self-regulation and emotional resilience
  • Supporting pupils’ personal, social and emotional development
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress, behaviour and attendance
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, parents/carers and external professionals
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about working with children and young people with SEND
  • Has experience supporting pupils with behavioural or additional needs
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is calm, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Has a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Is committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusive practice
  • Works effectively as part of a team and shows initiative
