About this Role
This role will include working in our school based, integrated resource and contributing to the teaching and learning of pupils across our key stage 1 and 2 classes. This role encompasses flexible SEND support, interventions, the teaching of foundational skills, supervision and engagement at unstructured times and contributing to the wider ethos and values of the school.
We are seeking:-
1.Someone who is competent in securing foundational knowledge in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
2. Has experience of supporting children to learn and grow both academically, socially and emotionally, creating confident, independent learners
3. Is able to work as part of a small team in a calm, nurturing, trauma informed, relational, learning environment and has a good understanding neurodiversity
4. Someone who is able to be flexible and resilient in their approach to pupil support, being creative with their approaches and interactions to best meeting individuals needs
5. Is able to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
Duties will include:-
- Supporting children to learn in small groups and individual interventions both in and out of the class
- Assisting the teachers to complete evidence for learning assessments against individual targets and national curriculum objectives
- Closing learning gaps with groups of children and supporting the class teaching in recording achievements (Birmingham toolkit)
- Assistance for teachers including administrative tasks, preparing resources, displaying work, organising the classroom / hub room, play time duties etc.
- Supporting the social, emotional and health needs of all children.
