About this Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced higher level teaching assistant to join our support team at Holland Junior School. This is a term time only plus INSET days which is a total of 39 weeks per year, working Monday - Friday  8:30am - 3:30pm.

Main objectives of the post:

  • Being a good to outstanding classroom practitioner, covering classes as directed by the Head teacher and SLT.
  • To cover classes as required, including the marking of work.
  • Continuous improvement of teaching and learning under the supervision of the class teacher, SENDCo or SLT.
  • Maintaining and raising standards under the supervision of the class teacher and SENDCo or SLT.
  • Tracking performance of specified groups of pupils.
  • Leading by example to motivate and work with others.

Holland Junior School is a 2-form entry junior school, graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted.  We have well-resourced classrooms, an amazing library space, and the best Forest School in the county!  Come and see it in action for yourself.  We have dedicated teachers, including PE, MfL and Music, who teach our pupils specialist subjects and also providing additional release time for our teachers.  We have a strong team of teaching assistants across the school who work in classes, as well as working in our new Nurture provision, supporting pupils with aspects of SEMH.
