Holland Junior School is a small junior school, graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We are an inclusive school with fantastic children, a friendly staff team, well-resourced classrooms, an amazing library space, and the best Forest School in the county! Come and see it in action for yourself. We have dedicated teachers, including specialist teachers teaching PE and Music. Everyone knows every child, every family. We have mixed age groups, but 3 classes within each phase - three Year 3/4 classes, and three Year 5/6 classes. This allows for multiple teachers to work together to plan and share resources, significantly reducing workload for our staff which can be an issue in smaller rural schools. We share planning and resources with other rural schools within the Trust which again, reduces workload for teachers and subject leaders.
We also have a strong team of experienced teaching assistants across the school who work in classes, as well as working in our SEND unit - Maple Class - which is a Communication and Interaction Centre for children on the Autistic Spectrum with communication and interaction difficulties. We have a highly skilled team working in Maple class and across the school and Trust as a centre of excellence. Our most recent Ofsted inspection also noted that staff speak highly of the support and guidance they receive from leaders in the school and academy trust.
